These grips employ a new fastening system - ratchet buckles. Ratchet buckle grips are fast and easy to tighten exactly as needed. Ratchet buckles prohibit spontaneous opening of the bracelet. Straps are made from a strong but flexible material which has proven difficult to tear or break. The adjustable tension straps prevent blood circulation blockage in the hands between approaches to the bars in practice and during the compulsory pauses at competitions. Narrow grips have neoprene fasteners on the tongues of the finger holds which makes it possible to regulate the size of the finger holes by moving the fasteners to inside or outside.

These new Velcro fasteners are more comfortable and secure than the Velcro of the old style. They can be tightened in one twist. The surface of the adhesion is also longer which makes it more secure. This design prevents sudden and unexpected opening. In the tightened position on the wrist the Velcro is not as thick, and that means greater comfort when working on the bars. Both beginners and gymnasts of elite level prefer the new design.
